Bolivia offers a great variety of unexplored, wild places, extraordinary altitudes and climates. Beginning with the Andes Mountain Range in the west, the highlands in between (where the Andean civilization was born), the crop producing central valleys and finally the Amazon Rain Forest in the north and easten regions of the conuntry. Dances hold a reverent place in popular Bolivian culture and have changed little over the last 3000 years. The natives revere Lake Titicaca traditionally regarded as the highest navigable body of water in the world.

This is still a good bet for first time visitors with lots of time. But, ask yourself... how long would it take to see the most important cities and sights of the United States? Then double that for South America because it is almost twice the size! Today’s preferences are for shorter trips to a single country or region - which is the theme of the this site. Let’s start with Bolivia!
