Venezuela is a country of striking natural beauty and dramatic
contrasts- the snowcapped peaks of the Andes in the
west; the steamy Amazonian jungles in the south, and
the hauntingly beautiful Gran Saban Plateua, with its
strange flat-topped mountains, in the east. There are
over 1860 miles of white-sand beaches fringed with coconut
palms lining the Carribean coast. South America's largest
lake, Lake Maracaibo, and third-longest river, the Orinoco,
are also here, and the country boasts the woarld's highest
waterfall, Angel Falls. Venezuela is also home to a
wide variety of exotic plants and animals, including
the jaguar, oceolot, tapir, armadillo, anteater, and
the longest snake in the world, the anaconda.

Caracas
Situated
in a picturesque valley on the north coast, Venezuela's capital is a bustling metropolis of nearly 4 million inhabitants.
Fast, progressive, and cosmopolitan, the city is now highly "Yankeefied,"
retaining little of the character of its colonial roots. It boasts some of the most impressive modern architecture in
South America.

Caracas
There
is polo, tango and a history that is reflected
in the architectural styles of the French, Spanish
and Italians. There is superb shopping in the
arcades of the city, concerts to be enjoyed in
the famous Colon Opera House and sights to be
seen in the La Boca district with its tango bars,
museums and galleries - this is the dynamic city
of Buenos Aires!

Angel Falls by Helicopter
Prior to departure, there will be a brief introduction to the area, covering its
landscape, the tabletop mountains, geology, flora and Indian mythology. Then the
adventure begins! Starting from the landing-strip at Canaima, the helicopter takes
off to its destination, Auyantepui. Only a few minutes after take off, overfly the
Sapo,Hacha and Golondrina falls, located around the Canaima Lagoon. The flight
continues along the Carrao River, overflying the virgin jungle of the Carrao River
area. When the helicopter reaches the Rio Aonda Canyon, you will be able to see
the first waterfalls pouring down from the tepuys, many of them still without
a name. Once on top of the tepuy, the helicopter will overfly the Sima Aonda,
one of the greatest cavities in the world (1,200 feet), by far Venezuela's
deepest canyon. The flight path follows the mountaintop heading for Angel Falls.
Suddenly, the highest waterfall on earth appears. The view is overwhelming and you
will have a look at the downfall froma hovering position. Then the aircraft
descends in a huge spiral parallel to the waterfall, reaching the point where the
water touches. You will get the impression of almost having touched the fall.
The helicopter takes a different direction back, heading through the Diablo
Canyon to Churun Falls. This jewel is well hidden in the heart of the mountain.
These falls, as well as many others, can only be truly appreciated by helicopter.
After this point, slowly fly back home, along the left border of Diablo Canyon.
